I LITERALLY CANNOT CONTAIN THE LEVEL OF EXCITEMENT WITHIN! We have been chosen as Camp Bestival official Rock Stars! *Can I get a woop and a wiggle!?!
Camp Bestival – Camp Bestival is a British music festival, the “little sister” of Bestival, both organised by BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank.
It’s going to be the family line-up of the year, with our Friday night headliner Mark Ronson, School of Rock the Musical, Holly Johnson, All Saints, Leftfield, Louisa Johnson, Skream, David Rodigan, the Bootleg Beatles, Mr Tumble, Dick and Dom, and the Tudors on Tour already announced, there’s still loads more fancy dress mayhem, music, theatre, family shows, fairground attractions, outdoor activities, poets, authors, comics and amazing food to be revealed for our Pop Stars and Rock Stars extravaganza this July 27-30 at Lulworth Castle!
We’ve been lucky enough to attend Camp Bestival previously, way back when Zachary was tiny and Ziggy was just a sparkle in my eye… my good eye. We didn’t really get to see everything as Zachary was so little and required 3-4 hour naps… literally 3-4 HOURS *Grumble*. The highlight of the weekend was a shout out by the sign language god that is Mr. Tumble and the AMAZING fireworks display at the end. Not to say that we didn’t have fun in between, it’s been a while and giving birth to 3 kids have scrambled my ability to remember great things. Maybe this is why I take so many pictures!
A lil throwback from Camp Bestival 2015!
How we’re prepping this year
Me? I’ll be in sequins and glitter. Any excuse, I’m covered. Both Zachary and Ziggy want to wear fancy dress all weekend, which is great as the theme ‘Rock Stars’ has them super pumped. Pre-teen Dylan, on the other hand, maybe a bit too cool. Seeing as though he’s starting Secondary School, he may not be down with the fancy dress, but I’m pretty sure I can get him wearing some glitter… you know glitter is cool right?
As for camping and amenities, I will not be cooking this year! Back in 2015, we took a little camping stove and so much food! We had to do about 4 trips back to the car to bring it all to the tent. I refuse. Thursday night we’ll be dining at GHANA-RAMA, a secret supperclub hosted by Zoe Adjonyah, owner of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen. A five-course Ghanaian feast! They’ll be loads of other yummy food outlets, so let me say it again to avoid confusion, I WILL NOT COOKING.
Tent? Well, seeing as though I usually drink wine whilst the hubster puts up the tent, I’ll most likely be doing the same thing.
The line up? Zachary is a BIG fan of Madness, hubster is looking forward to seeing his ‘hero’ Brian Wilson, I’ll be making a beeline for All Saints (praying they sing their oldies), and Ziggy wants to see Mr. Tumble. Last but not least, big boy Dylan has decided that he’ll be geeking it up in the Science Tent. The Lego® Robotics Space Challenge has caught his eye.
If you’ll be there don’t be shy, say hello! I’d love to meet you x
If you haven’t managed to get tickets yet, you’re in luck (as of 30th June 2017) there are tickets left. Head over to their official site to purchase.
