For once, for the very first time ever, ever, ever (yes, I like to exaggerate) I didn’t find out about a great event after it occurred. Lizzy and I attended Scarlett London’s Bloggers Ball and it was fab!
#BloggersBall – (Saturday 18th June 2016) Scarlett London events hosted it’s first evert ever Bloggers Ball in a glitzy location complete with a red carpet. As promised it was “rather fancy” but was a “completely informal and chilled event”. There were lots of friendly brands, fellow bloggers and amazing cocktails. It was a brilliant day!
It was a professionally organised and the event itself had amazing brand representatives and so many lovely Bloggers to chat to. So many friendly people and recognisable faces. Apologies if I didn’t say hello Twitter & Insta friends, but there was just so much to take in and so many pretty things to look at!
Although we are not Beauty Bloggers, there were lots of things I cannot wait to try. BRAVURA LONDON skincare range for one. After speaking to their consultant she recommended a range of products that will eliminate uneven pigmentation that occurs after breakouts, fingers crossed because I’d love to be comfortable on those makeup free days! The 30-minute surgical facelift by Chin Up Mask… Lizzy and I nearly squealed with delight after speaking to their reps. The results after using this mask look incredible and apparently lasts for days. So again, I’m going to keep you updated as I have a big night out on Friday, so I’m saving this for the night before!
Another favourite on the night was So…? The Brand reps were incredibly friendly, we had such a good laugh. I got all nostalgic because I remember using their products when I was a teenager. Reading Sugar magazine, watching the Smash Hits Poll winners Party and smelling of So…? Yep, those were the 90’s. Amazing. 14 year olds were not what we see today. We were geeky, we didn’t wear makeup… although, maybe the occasional blue glitter gel on our eyelids and a bit of strawberry flavoured gloss. No matt Lippy, no winged liner, we looked like average frizzy haired kids. Not Instagram Models. I miss miss those times man.
Admittedly, since growing up and using more expensive brands, I was shocked that So…? had lots of beautiful fragrances! As a mum, in particular a mum of a 2 year old who doesn’t seem to think there’s anything wrong with wiping his dirty hands on me. Or rubbing food in my hair. At the very least, whilst covered in mess, I want to smell nice. And by that, a scent that is great and fresh and not so overpowering, that I forget what my task for the day is. Strong powerful scents when I go out and party, this means cocktails. Nice, pretty fragrance for the day or to freshen up after the gym. This means this awesome mum is ready to tackle the world, and smell clean and fresh too! WOOP! Thank you So…? for all the lovely goodies! I’m not even going to be tight and sparing, because they are incredibly affordable, a bottle a week can slot in effortlessly into our family budget.
With that, if you’re a blogger and haven’t made it to any events so far, you should, they’re great! So many people who are in the same position as you and probably have the same interest. Go, be yourself and enjoy! And lastly, get business cards. The amount of people that asked for my card was crazy… and as I didn’t really think people did cards with all this modern technology stuff going on I didn’t have any! #Fail. So yes, I’m going to get some business cards, then book in our next blogging event. We currently have our eye on Scarlett’s #BloggersFestival, so you never know, we may see you there!
