Welcome to our glossary, a collection of terms and definitions.

The Kiki Blah-Blah bloggers get carried away sometimes and we realise that our words/slang terms may not make sense to you.

Yes, we may throw in words that blow your mind and therefore, you may need to ‘Google‘, or check a dictionary or two. No need my friend, the majority of our crazy words have been linked to this glossary.

Here’s our alphabetised glossary of terms.

Bear

Bear – A term of endearment for Mayita’s eldest child. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]

Bear had only been earthside for about 3 weeks and we were still getting to grips with having a baby.

Big Chop

Big Chop – A term used for the action of cutting off one’s hair. Usually when cutting off chemically straightened hair to allow natural hair to grow back healthily.  [1]

Both Sareta and Michelle decided to ditch the relaxer and go natural! Although their aim was the same, they didn’t use the same method. Sareta cut her hair in stages, whilst Michelle went for the big chop!

Bouji

Abbreviation for the term bourgeoisie. Bouji means living the high life, thinking that you’re all that and more… you’re a motherf**ker and so much more. [1]

The term must be taken with a pinch of salt, however, we don’t necessarily believe we’re better, we just like the finer things in life.

“Girl please, Lizzy would never stay in a 2-star hotel, she’s way to bouji for that!”

CBeebies

CBeebies – A children’s channel aimed at 0-6. They show a plethora of kiddie-addictive shows, enabling parents to take a break for 5 mins or so. [1].

“I’m about to put CBeebies on so I can get 5 bloody minutes in the loo”.

FOMO

FOMO – An Acronym for Fear of missing out. [1].

“Seriously worried about FOMO Sharon, I’m going to get those early bird tickets, even if I have to sell a Kidney to buy them”.

Hubster

Hubster – A term of endearment for your cool husband. [1]

My Hubster just bought me a bottle of wine and some chocolates. He totally rocks!

kɛse

kɛse – Great in Twi! Twi is a dialect of Akan, a member of the Kwa sub-group of Niger-Congo languages. There are about 7 million Twi speakers, mainly in Ghana. Major dialects of Twi include Akuapim Twi, Fante Twi and Ashanti Twi, which all mutually intelligible. [1]

Pea

Pea – A term of endearment for Hayley’s youngest. [1]

Once I’d had my little pea, I waited (impatiently) to see if my saggy pouchy mutu would rectify itself in any way.

Ping Pong

Ping Pong – A term of endearment for Mayita’s youngest child. [1]

Thankfully Ping Pong is already a much better sleeper than Bear ever was so he’ll either be asleep or be chilling out in his basket.

Tea

Tea – Gossip. [1]

Spilling of tea refers to having a gossip or sharing gossip.
“Gurl, Imma bout’ to spill the tea!”.

The Gram

The Gram – Noun. To take pictures in order to post on Instagram. [1]

Instagram is a social media service that allows you to take and share photographs and videos within your own online community.
“Becky, why are you taking a picture of your food?”, “Babes, obvy, I’m takin’ it for the gram”.

Snickerdoodle

Snickerdoodle – A term of endearment for your BF, GF, Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Partner, Husband, Wife, Crush or Bae. [1]

I still love the changes I’ve consciously made not just for myself but my family too, that includes my ‘Snickerdoodle’.

STFU

STFU – Acronym used for the phrase “shut the fuck up” for efficiency reasons. [1]

I really wish my kids would ‘STFU’ sometimes.
