We’re half way through half term and I don’t know about you, but I need a break! Lots of playing, lots of noise and a lot of eating… and to be honest, they’ve devoured a lot of treats.Today we had fun making some simple fruity Ice Pops. Fuss-free and guaranteed to get your kids not only choosing fruit, but eating it too. We had no squabbles when it came to it, they chose what fruit they wanted to try and were excited to place them in the mould, creating fab juicy flavours. They had a blast and were happy to eat the left overs whilst their creations set in the freezer to be eaten the next day. GO TEAM! We’re getting through half term like warriors! Now…where’s my coffee?
All you need for this activity is fruit, still lemonade, an Ice Pop mould and a sharp knife (you probably know this, but just in case – the knife is for you grown-ups only!).
What we used:
- Still Lemonade
- Green feathers
- Chopping board and a sharp knife
Instructions (although this activity is so simple, you won’t need ’em!):
Chop up your fruit into small chunks making sure they’re small enough to fit into your Ice Pop mould.
Pour still lemonade (or preferred juice) over the fruit and into the Ice Pop mould.
Give your moulds a little shake, making sure there are no air bubbles trapped under the fruit, and top up if needed.
Freeze over night and enjoy the next day!
*Try some alternatives – I made some coconut milk with poppy seed and strawberries pictured in the header image. They were delicious and less than 99 calories… BONUS!
