Bloom And Blossom caught my eye when I saw some familiar characters from one of my favourite authors on the packaging. I’m here for amazing collaborations, and this is undoubtedly a good’un.
I’m going to make an incredible confession…I’m not a reader. I mean, I can read, but I’m not a reader. I’m visually stimulated, and this all started way back when I read all of Roald Dahl’s children’s books. I used to love reading as a child, I worked my way through the classics, and when it came to stories like Esio Trot and Matilda, I was obsessed. Roald’s use of language, rhymes and hilarious tales got me hooked. Unfortunately, for me, no other author made me laugh or think like Roald Dahl, and so I stopped reading.
Fast forward 20-something years and all I’ve read as an adult are trashy biographies, all thing wellness and self-improvement and magazines. Oh, and of course other blogs. Because of this, I’ve introduced my kids to a range of authors, including Roald Dahl of course, especially at bedtime as a way to unwind. Nowadays there are a plethora of amazing authours, and I assume many of them were inspired by the likes of Fantastic Mr Fox or The Twits.
You know when a brand speaks to you, Bloom and Blossom did precisely that. Not only were the products created by mums, but it’s also family run. The obvious collaboration was also a factor, but so was their incredible mantra; “Bath, Book & Bedtime”. This is something that we have instilled in our children from the beginning, and it’s fabulous to see a brand incorporate something so important.
13th September marks ‘Roald Dahl Day’, which is Roald’s birthday. This year both Bloom And Blossom held a breakfast at Roald Dahl HQ and announced their recent product range. Matilda Bath, Book And Bedtime products were revealed to myself and fellow bloggers and Instagrammers.
We were introduced to the creators of Bloom And Blossom, Sisters-in-law, Julia and Christina. Roald Dahl HQ crew and an incredibly knowledgeable gentleman from the Roald Dahl Museum. I don’t think I’ve ever learnt so much or spoken to so many wonderful people in one morning.
Miss Honey, Miss Trunchbull and Bruce Bogtrotter are depicted within the Matilda range and ‘mystical dream’ is even an ingredient in the BFG products. Both books and characters are popular in my home.
As we said our goodbyes and ‘thank yous’, we were gifted the products mentioned along with some quirky designed affirmation cards. These were to be shared with our boys as a reminder that a good nights sleep can lead to so many great things; being brave, phenomenal, and a brilliant friend. A blank card was also within the pack so they could create a personal affirmation.
So much thought and love went into creating this brand, the attention to detail is just superb.
We’ve tested out Bloom And Blossom’s Bath, Book & Bedtime regime, and they passed with flying colours and extra sparkles. My youngest boys have very dry skin, so we tend to avoid bubble baths and products containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (an ingredient that creates bubbles). We welcomed these products with open arms, so much so that I’m starting to think that they created them just for my boys and me.
Matilda’s Magical Pillow Spray was an added bonus. My four-year-old Ziggy is a big fan. “Mummy’s way to make good dreams” came in the form of a special spray which contains the same scent as Miss Trunchbulls Hair & Body Wash and the super sensitive Bruce Bogtrotter’s Bubble Bath.
Again, I can’t stress enough, how much we are in love with these products. They’re not gender specified, unlike a lot of other popular bathtime products! This is yet another reason why this brand gets an almighty fist bump and will remain a part of our bath, book and bedtime regime.
Thank you, Bloom And Blossom!
Bloom And Blossom’s products are available online, in Waitrose, and can be found in Boots stores later this year.
*Items were gifted to style and review, and of course, all thoughts and opinions are my own*
